Alternate option: During visitor sign in
Keys borrowing can be set up as a check box on the visitor sign in form that says “I am borrowing a key” which brings up a text field to enter key number. This is recorded in the Passtab dashboard as a borrowed key against this visitor. However this means only visitors can borrow keys (staff don’t sign in as a visitor which is where the key tracking is attached to) and keys have to be returned at the end of every day, because when the visitor signs out, so too does the key record that was created by them.

Preferred option: Key register
A key register is set up with all your keys pre-entered. Borrowing and returning keys is a separate process to the sign in process. This means anyone can borrow keys, not just visitors who are signing in. And keys can be borrowed for any length of time
