Understanding the Distinction between QR Code Posters and QR Code Scanning
A QR code poster and QR code scanning are two different aspects of using QR codes.
QR code Poster
A QR code poster is a physical poster featuring an image of a QR code that can be scanned by a mobile device. Upon scanning the QR code, a Passtab sign-in form will be displayed on the mobile device. The sign-in information entered will be recorded in the Passtab dashboard, just like any sign-in completed on the iPad.
QR code posters offer a convenient solution for adding sign-in stations without the need for more iPads. This can be especially useful during busy periods, such as events, and also provide people with a contactless alternative for signing in, addressing concerns about touching the iPad.

QR code scanning
A school provides a regular visitor with a QR code keyring that is linked to the person’s Passtab Quickpin. To sign in or out, the person simply clicks “Scan in” at the Passtab iPad station, and the iPad camera scans their QR code keyring. This action creates the sign-in or sign-out record for that person.
This is a great option for regular visitors, to make their sign in and out process quick and easy.
