User Access Management – Adding, Blocking, Editing, Deleting Users
What is User Management?
User management is an optional module that can be enabled for accounts who wish to manage their own users, for example, to grant staff individual access to certain areas of the admin dashboard or sign in/out options.
Please note, there are some scenarios where it can not be enabled where there are very complex configuration setup around user access and permissions.
Once this module is enabled you can create users of the predefined roles. Additional roles can be added if different rights/permissions are required.
If you do not have user management enabled on your account and require assistance updating retrieving access or adding additional users or new functionality please contact our support team support@invision.net.au
Adding Users
- Access management (once activated) can be found under Account -> Access Management
- Select the button “Add Access Credential”
- Select the role to provide to the person you wish to create
- Provide an email and name
An email will be dispatched to this person with instructions to completed their setup.
Editing Users and Updating Passwords
A user’s email is required as it is used to recover access if a password is forgotten. You can edit a user and their email by selecting the “edit” link.
A password reset link can be sent to this users email by clicking the link “Resend password link”
Blocking/Deleting Users
If you wish to revoke access, a user can be blocked. This is the preferred option to be used, as they will be removed from your immediate Access Management page but their user history kept in place.
This is done by selecting “edit” and settings their status to “blocked” and then Saving.
Alternatively you can cancel an account. This is done by selecting “edit” and at the bottom of the page selecting “Cancel account”. You will be presented with a range of options for how to handle the delete process. We recommend using “Delete the account and make its content belong to the Anonymous user.”
